Easter basket. How many Poles will pay for the holidays

On Easter, Poles will spend an average of PLN 941 – according to the IBRIS study. Still more respondents declare that they will spend them with their family, but the number of people who intend to work is growing.

Few participants of the study (5.8 percent) admitted that Easter will spend at work or study – they are to be 1 pp. more.

What affects purchasing decisions?

Ibris also asked Poles about what affects their purchasing decisions.

It turned out that for 63.3 percent people are the most important for earlier good experiences for 41.3 percent. Promotions and price reductions are important, and 40.4 percent pointed to economic patriotism, i.e. the choice of Polish products. Less often, respondents exchanged ecology (12.3 percent), commands of loved ones (13.9 percent) and influencers' impact (5.7 percent).

– Poles remain faithful to tradition and the family dimension of Christmas – noted Kamil Smogorzewski from Ibris, quoted in the information describing the results of the study. At the same time, he added, you can see a great consumer awareness, i.e. attachment to quality, origin of products and previous experiences is ahead of the impact of advertising or social media. – However, promotions still win with economic patriotism – Smogorzewski pointed out.

Increased interest in traditions

More and more Poles declare to maintain Christmas traditions. This year, 73.8 percent people intend to go to church with Święconka – this is 7.7 pp. in an annual basis. Easter eggs want to decorate 59.8 percent. respondents – by 1.2 pp. more, and pouring water in Śmigus Dyngus plans 55.3 percent. – at 5.2 pp. more. On Good Friday, post wants to keep 56.4 percent. people – by 10.6 pp. more than in 2024.

Among the dishes that will appear on the holiday table, we will most often reach for: – sour soup (28.1 percent, increase by 8.3 pp. On annual terms), – eggs in mayonnaise (15.7 percent – decrease against last year by 1.6 pp.), – white sausage (10.9 percent, decrease by 1.9 pp), (10.2 percent, increase by 0.9 pp.), – stuffed eggs (7.9 percent, increase by 0.2 pp.), – vegetable salad (7.5 percent, by 7.4 pp. Less), – mazurka (6.4 percent, increase of 0.8 pp.), – iced baby (2.9 percent, decrease by 2.3 pp).

The study was conducted using the CATI method on April 4-5, 2025 among 1068 adult Poles. On the other hand, a comparative study of March 22-23, 2024 was conducted by the same method at a sample of 1000 adult Poles.
