Heavy rainfall caused floods in Bosnia and Herzegovina. A particularly difficult situation prevails in the city of Priślor and its surroundings, where entire housing estates were found under water. A state of emergency was announced in the city, and the inhabitants and the authorities anxiously observe the growing state of water on the river flowing through them.

The downpours and flooding were mainly affected by the north-west regions of the country. The National Sender N1 said on Saturday that in some cities a state of natural disaster was announced and extraordinary flood protection measures were introduced.

One of the worst floods

The most difficult situation persists in Prijiejero and in its suburbs, where the Sana River and its tributes appeared from the trough. Almost completely underwater was the village of Gomjenica adjacent to the city. At the weekend, the waves began to break into the buildings and kidnap cars parked in front of the houses. Local media estimate that over 600 residential and farm buildings have been flooded during the last day in Prijijij and its surroundings.

– They say that the most terrible flood was in 2014, but in my opinion it is even worse – one of the city's residents said in an interview with Reuters. – Sana just started to rise, I can't get home, maybe it will be in three or four days. It is not known exactly when the river level falls – she added.
