An extraordinary meeting of the Council of Ministers will be held on Monday at 9 a.m. due to the flood situation, the Chancellery of the Prime Minister announced on Sunday evening.
The government intends to introduce a state of natural disaster. Prime minister Donald Tusk announced on Sunday that after consultation with the relevant ministers and services, he had commissioned the preparation of a regulation of the Council of Ministers on this matter.
Council of Ministers is also preparing financial aid for the victims. The Prime Minister has ordered the Minister of Finance to prepare funds for emergency aid and removal of flood effects. The payment of benefits will be coordinated by the governors, and they will be paid by the communes. – Yesterday, I obliged them to pay out the benefits as quickly and as simply as possible – said the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration in Katowice on Sunday. Extreme rainfall, flooding and flooding
Flooding continues in the south and west of Poland. The most dramatic situation is in Lower Silesia and the Opole region. On Saturday and Sunday morning, the head of government met with crisis teams on site, and the ministers of internal affairs, national defense, infrastructure and climate were also in the flooded areas.
The dam in Stronie Śląskie in Kłodzko County has burst. In Głuchołazy in Nysa County, the pressure of the water destroyed a temporary bridge. Stronie Śląskie and Lądek Zdrój are practically impossible to reach. Kłodzka Streets are under water; the depth of the water in the flooded blocks in the city center ranges from 50 cm to 1.5 meters. Evacuations of people are underway in many places. Some patients, including pregnant women and children, were evacuated from the hospital in Nysa, which was cut off from the city by the water on Sunday.
