The Supervisory Board of PLL LOT delegated on Monday. Tomasz Ludwicki to temporarily perform the duties of the company's president. Last week, Michał Fijoł was dismissed from the position of president of the management board of PLL LOT.
“On December 2, 2024, the Supervisory Board of PLL LOT delegated Member of the Supervisory Board, Dr. Tomasz Ludwicki, to temporarily perform the duties of the President of the Management Board of PLL LOT for a period not longer than 3 months. At the same time, the Management Board decided to appoint Michał Fijoł as a proxy of the Company” – the Ministry of Infrastructure announced on Monday message.
Who is Tomasz Ludwicki, acting president of PLL LOT
Tomasz Ludwicki has been a member of the Supervisory Board of PLL LOT since July 8, 2024.
According to the information on LOT's website, he holds a PhD in economics and specializes in organizational strategy and organizational consulting. He is the director and lecturer of the Executive MBA Program at the University of Warsaw, as well as the Faculty of Management at the University of Warsaw and universities in Europe and USA. He is also an assessor in the Association of MBAs, which accredits MBA programs around the world.
He carried out consulting projects for leading Polish companies and international corporations devoted to formulating and implementing strategies, designing processes and organizational structures, as well as training projects.
“The appeal was made due to the results of audit proceedings”
LOT announced last Tuesday that Michał Fijoł had been dismissed from the position of president of the air carrier. The announcement stated that the cancellation was made in connection with the results of audit proceedings.
During a press conference on Wednesday, the Minister of State Assets, Jakub Jaworowski, referred to the Tuesday's decision of the Supervisory Board of LOT Polish Airlines regarding the dismissal of President Michał Fijoł, in the context of corporate governance, ownership supervision and convening the board. Jaworowski said he “badly” assessed this decision.
When asked whether he would want to take consequences against the supervisory board, he reminded that LOT is supervised by the Ministry of Infrastructure. – I talked to Minister Klimczak (Minister of Infrastructure – ed.) and declared full cooperation in explaining and further examining this matter (dismissal of the president of LOT – PAP). The case is shocking, said Jaworowski.
Ownership supervision over Polska Grupa Lotnicza and PLL LOT was transferred from the Ministry of Assets to the Ministry of Infrastructure. Last Wednesday, an amendment to the relevant regulation entered into force, published on Tuesday in the Journal of Laws.
