Gdańsk police detained a man suspected of stealing four gold chains in one of the pawnshops. The value of the stolen jewelry was estimated at almost PLN 20,000. The 26-year-old was charged with particularly daring theft.
The theft occurred on October 29 in the afternoon in one of the pawnshops in Gdańsk. A 26-year-old man entered the premises and asked to see one of the chains.
“Taking advantage of the seller's moment of inattention, the man stole four gold chains worth almost PLN 20,000,” we read in the statement.
An inspection was carried out on site, photographic documentation was prepared, witnesses were interviewed and evidence was secured.
The officers established the identity of the suspect and started looking for him. The 26-year-old was arrested in the Nowy Port district. The man was taken to the police station and charged with particularly daring theft. He was placed under police surveillance.
He faces up to eight years in prison.
