An important day for Masovian drivers: “Today (December 18 – ed.) we released the total 20 km of the A2 motorway. Until almost 13-kilometer long Groszki – Siedlce Zachód section fragments of neighboring episodes were added […] 3.6 km of the Kałuszyn – Groszki section and the beginning of Siedlce Zachód – Siedlce Południe (3.4 km)” – noted GDDKiA in a press release. The General Directorate for Roads and Motorways further emphasized that a total of almost 38 km of highway A2.
Investment for millions: GDDKiA reported that contract value she reached as far as the given section PLN 530 millionhowever, co-financing from EU funds (under two programs – POIiŚ and FEnIKS) amounted to approx. PLN 339 million. – Thanks co-financed by the EU The highway will make travel to other regions of Poland and the whole of Europe faster and safer – said Katarzyna Smyk, director of the Representation of the European Commission in Poland.
Special strip for expansion: On the completed section, “wide separation zone“, which is to constitute a reserve under expansion in the future. The contractors also boast that they used it to create it “different technology”. “Instead of filling it with humus and sowing grass as before, we used hardened aggregate with a sealed surface, the roughness and grip of which will minimize the risk of losing control of the vehicle in the event of driving off the main road,” explained GDDKiA.
