Germany. Media: Threats and acts of vandalism towards the CDU after a joint vote with AFD

The police had to intervene to protect Friedrich Merz, CDU/CSU candidate for chancellor, before demonstrators during his visit to Cologne. According to the portal of the “Bild” daily, security measures were also significantly strengthened during a party conference at the Berlin City Cube.

The newspaper reported that it was particularly visible when Merz left the event – he was surrounded by a tight cordon of officers, creating a protective wall around.

All delegates had to undergo strict security checks. “Interestingly, even food was confiscated, including homemade sandwiches and sweets,” noted “Bild”. Despite these precautions – as the newspaper said – Greenpeace activists, using false press passes, managed to get to the hall and disturb the event.

Among the CDU activists there is a “terrifyingly long” list of photos documenting the destruction of entrances to the party offices – the portal says. In Hamburg and Dortmund, the activists wrote with a spray on the door of the headquarters of the party “Shame”, in Bochum “Merz will lead the AfD to power”, Aw Recklinghausen and Lueneburg “CDU traitor”.

“There were numerous intimidating assemblies in front of various CDU offices,” noted the Welt Dziennik portal. For example, in Borken (North Rhine-Westphalia), Giessen (Hesse) and Rostock (Mecklenburg-Pomorze). According to the police report, unknown perpetrators scattered the manure of the manure in front of the CDU office in Luechow (Dolna Saxony).

“Welt” reminded that on Monday evening the police secured the CDU event dedicated to migration policy, which took place in the traditional Alter Krug pub in Berlin-Dahl. Almost 200 leftist activists gathered in front of the premises, who tried to burst inside. The police used tear gas – informs Welt.

The CDU District Office in Berlin -Charlottenburg had to face one of the most serious – according to the media – incidents. Last Thursday, about 40 radical leftist activists invaded the office, demanding a meeting with the mayor of Berlin, Kaem Wegner (CDU). The police intervened on the spot.

The Secretary General of CDU Carsten Linnemann, asked by “Welt”, emphasized that the right to demonstration is a valuable good that should be protected and defended.

“Lękanie, graffiti and assaults, including the threat of death, made by Antifa and activists against our electoral activists, have nothing to do with the protest,” said Linnemann. – We will not be intimidated by these people. A week ago, the Bundestag by a small majority of votes supported the conclusion of the Christian Democrats to introduce permanent controls on German state borders. This was done thanks to the votes of the extreme right-wing-populist alternative to German (AFD), which caused the indignation of the German public opinion and politicians.

Later, the bill on limitation of immigration did not obtain the majority in the German parliament.

After a shared vote of the Chadek from AfD, Merz repeatedly distanced himself in speeches and interviews from an extremely right -wing party, but this did not calm the moods. At the weekend in several cities there were smaller and larger demonstrations. In Berlin itself, 160,000 people came out to protest against AfD and CDU.
