AFD complains about breaking democratic standards. The German extreme right demands “without exception all rights and offices that have the second strongest faction in the Bundestag”.

The German parliament has started a new term. At the first meeting it became clear that the AFD would still be surrounded by the so -called sanitary cordon. She did not even get the usual position of the vice -chairman, although she won over 20 percent of the votes in the last election.

– When you refuse us our rights, it does not bring you any benefit. Most voters have been fed up with this left-green cartel a long time ago. AFD doubled its number in the Bundestag. We are stronger than ever before. Your tricks will not stop our height – said Bernd Baumann, secretary of the AfD parliamentary club during the meeting.

AFD was outraged, among others, that her MP Alexander Gauland, did not become an honorary chairman opening the first Bundestag meeting. Gauland is a persona non grata, because in the past he has repeatedly whitening the crimes of the Third Reich. In 2021 he blamed Poland for the outbreak of World War II.

The extreme right strongly depends on winning a place in the parliamentary control body that German intelligence services monitors. If AFD obtained the desired position, she could get insight into the files in investigations against herself, and the services suspect her, among others, relationships with the Kremlin.

She only confirmed her pro -Russian attitude of AFD on March 18. Her politicians called the disgrace that the previous Bundestag adopted a giant defense expenditure package. – It is a day of shame, shame for democracy and the state of law – commented Beatrix von Storch, MP of the AfD.

Finding a parliamentary majority for a package worth 500 billion euros is considered the success of the KUDCKI CDU/CSU FRIEDRICH MERZ. Germany had to change the constitution for this purpose.

– Germany sends a clear signal to our partners and friends, but also to our opponents. We make this country talented and ready to defend. We do not lack funds for defense, freedom and peace. We also take responsibility for the security of Europe – emphasizes Friedrich Merz.

Now, before the CDU/CSU leader, there is the task of forming a government coalition with Social Democrats with SPD. The German press writes about significant differences in views between the future chancellor and his coalition partner – among others in issues of social policy or approach to abortion.

The goal is to create a new government at the latest until Easter. The old government said goodbye to President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

– You managed to create inter -party alliances to secure our defense skills with a special fund. You pulled out all your aces from the sleeve to secure the supply of energy during the first winter of war. Together with the local authorities, you provided shelter to many people who escaped from the war, even though this burden led us to the limit. These achievements of your government deserve respect – said Frank -Walter Steinmeier

The President of the German asked Olaf Scholz to continue his chancellor's duties until his successor was appointed. After the first meeting of the new Bundestag, Scholz is only the duties of the head of the government. Although his party is taking talks on the creation of a new coalition, he himself does not participate in negotiations.
