Zygmunt N. was bound and strangled, and his apartment in Czuchów (Czerwonki-Leszczyn district) was ransacked. The prosecutor's office discontinued the proceedings in this case after two years due to the failure to detect the perpetrators. Another 17 years passed before the suspects were arrested.

The District Prosecutor's Office in Gliwice announced the arrest of three suspects on Friday. During the investigation, prosecutors cooperated with officers of the Central Police Investigation Bureau.

The crime took place on April 27, 2005 in Czuchów, the Czerwonki-Leszczyny district. Bandits broke into Zygmunt N.'s house, tied him up and strangled him, and the apartment was ransacked. The proceedings in this case were conducted by the District Prosecutor's Office in Rybnik, which discontinued the investigation after almost two years of investigation due to the failure to detect the perpetrators.

– The analysis of the case as part of the “X-Files” in Gliwice allowed for the initiation of an investigation and the arrest of three people who were charged with murder in connection with a robbery using a firearm (…). Another person was charged with participating in a robbery with the use of a dangerous weapon, said Karina Spruś, spokeswoman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Gliwice, in a statement.

On Thursday, three people charged with murder were temporarily arrested by the District Court in Gliwice. They face up to life imprisonment.
