Grodzisk Mazowiecki. A priest with allegations for having a mephedrone

A priest from the Archdiocese of Warsaw heard prosecutor's allegations regarding possession and free of charge mephedrone. He pleaded guilty. The archdiocese authorities decided to hang it in pastoral activities. The priest will also be directed to therapy.

The District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw informed about the case.

“The District Prosecutor's Office in Grodzisk Mazowieckie supervises the investigation against Jarosław N. suspected of having a mephedrone and granting a mephedron free of charge to another person. The events occurred on May 8, 2025. The suspect confessed to committing the alleged act and submitted a request to impose him without conducting a sentence before the court” – we read on the portal X. Is a priest.

Priest suspended. Therapy awaits him

On Friday, the Archdiocese of Warsaw issued a statement on this matter. “In connection with the information about the detention of one of the clergy of the Archdiocese of Warsaw on charges of possession and free of charge, we would like to inform you that the archdiocese authorities – immediately after the event that occurred last week – decided to suspend it in all pastoral activities, including in public celebration of the sacraments” – spokesman, Fr. Przemysław Śliwiński.

“After admitting guilty, in connection with the violation of canon 285 of the Code of Canon Law, the priest was covered by a penalty and directed to a isolated place where he would stay until the end of civil and canonical proceedings” – we read further.

Father At the end, Śliwiński emphasized that “regardless of the consequences arising from state law and the church, a clergy proceeding, there is an obligation to undertake appropriate therapy.”
