Hanna Bakula she visited “Question for breakfast”where he talked about his new book entitled: “Aunt Pelasia”. And since the artist describes her experiences with a relative who had dementia, the pretext for the conversation turned out to be an interesting discussion about the lives of the elderly, family relationships, nursing homes, and even the right to euthanasia. – This is a book for people who have old relatives, over 80 years of age, who require care. This is a book to comfort hearts. Poles are strange when it comes to families. We overestimate our contribution to families. Older people take care of their grandchildren, then they are unable to function. Then usually their families take them in or they hire a nanny – she said on air.
Hanna Bakuła familiarizes herself with the topic of nursing homes
The painter pointed out that although the standard of care homes is improving, for many it is a taboo subject. All because, in her opinion, the families of sick people are ashamed to reach out for help. This leads to human dramas. Caregivers are putting their health at risk, and still often do not provide the same conditions as a specialist facility. – There is no way that a really sick person can be taken care of at home. IVs, a doctor, a nurse, an injection… You have to have a nurse at home, and if you don't have money for that, it's a problem – she added and stated that she hoped that she would live to see the time when nursing homes would one day be “disenchanted” and that living there would not be a disgrace to anyone.
Hanna Bakuła is counting on legal euthanasia
Hanna Bakuła, as is her wont, did not beat around the bush any further. Asked how she imagined her future, she answered directly, touching on the subject of euthanasia. – I hope that before it becomes a problem for me, euthanasia will be possible. There is no point in delaying when you are sick with everything. You are 96 years old and nothing really interests you anymore, you will not go anywhere, you will not see anything, and you have had enough, so I think that is how it should be – she concluded. Do you agree with her? Write in the comments. For now, the artist is taking care of her health herself. Of course, under the supervision of specialists. Fortunately, she does not need the help of her loved ones. “I have been rehabilitating knee inflammation for two years. In Sopot, there is a rheumatology hospital with space machines and super professional staff. I go for treatments every day and I like it very much. It helps for a little while and … again,” she wrote some time ago on Instagram.
