The White House has released a detailed report on the health and general condition of US presidential candidate Kamala Harris. Commentators point out that this is an attempt to draw attention to the fact that Donald Trump did not provide such information.
Dr. Joshua Simmons, Army Colonel USA and Harris' doctor, issued a statement in which he announced that she was in “excellent health” and had sufficient physical and mental resilience and strength to serve as president.
As AP reminds us, since age and general condition forced the president Joe Biden to resign from running for re-election, public opinion is paying a little more attention to Trump's condition. However, AFP stipulates that according to polls the candidates' health is not of particular importance to voters. Nevertheless, in a Gallup survey published on Thursday, 41 percent respondents assessed that the former president was too old to take up this office again.
Trump's “meandering” and “obsessive” statements
The Democratic candidate's campaign staff, according to AFP, carefully read recent articles by the New York Times, which emphasize that Trump has not provided a detailed report on his health, and that his statements at rallies are increasingly “longer”, “deliberative”, ” vulgar” and “full of obsessions with the past.”
CNBC television pointed out that during a meeting with Trump in Washington in the summer, the heads of large companies were surprised by how “meandering” his statements were and how much the former president “could not hold one thought.”
Trump is currently the oldest candidate for US president and if he wins the November election, he will break the record for age at the time of taking office. On inauguration day he will be 78 years and 219 days old.
