The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued first-degree warnings on a three-level, increasing scale.
IMWM warnings – strong wind
Forecasters issued first-degree warnings of strong winds in the following voivodeships:
- Lesser Polandin the following counties: Nowy Targ, Nowy Sącz and Gorlice;
- Podkarpackiein southern counties.
Strong winds with an average speed of up to 35 km/h and gusts of up to 75 km/h are expected to occur from the west and southeast. The alarms will expire at 7 on Friday.
IMWM warnings – heavy snowfall
Yellow alerts for heavy snowfall are in force in the following voivodeships:
- Opole provincein the following counties: Nysa, Prudnik, Głubczyce, Kędzierzyn-Koźle;
- Silesianin southern counties.
Snowfall is forecast there, causing the snow cover to increase by 10 to 20 cm in some places. Snow flurries are possible locally. The warnings will expire at 8 on Friday.

It will be slippery in parts of the country. First degree warnings against icing apply to the following voivodeships:
- Pomeranian;
- West Pomeranian Voivodeshipin the eastern part of the voivodeship;
- Warmian-Masurian Voivodeshipin the counties: Braniewo, ElblągElbląg;
- Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship;
- Greater Polandoutside the following counties: Koło, Turek, Kalisz, KaliszOstrów, Ostrzeszów, Kępiński;
- Lubuskie;
- Lower Silesiacounties: Górowski, Lubin, Głogów, Polkowice, Bolesławiec, Zgorzelec;
- Opole provincepoviats: Nysa, Prudnik, Głubczyce, Kędzierzyn-Koźle;
- Silesianoutside the counties: Kłobuck, Częstochowa, CzęstochowaLubliniec;

It is forecast that wet road surfaces and sidewalks will freeze after sleet and wet snow, causing them to become icy. The warnings will be in force until 9 on Friday.
