The former mayor of Zurich is grateful to the Polish police for the capture of his dog kidnapper. A resident of Szczecin kidnapped them for ransom. Initially, he demanded as many as a million francs. However, he fell and threatens him to prison. The Swiss came for dogs and is happy.
– I am the happiest guy in the world. My boys were kidnapped over 10 days ago and I thought that I would never see them again – says Rolf Wegmüller, former mayor of Zurich. – Police in Szczecin did the best job in the world – he emphasizes.
It was supposed to be a perfect crime. There is the joy of an animal owner – former mayor of Zurich and great gratitude to the Polish police.
The police not only released Quamar and Quentin, but also stopped the blackmailer kidnapper.
– Szczecin policemen received information from the International Police Headquarters Office about the abduction of two Bolonka dogs in Switzerland. This incident occurred at the end of February this year – says asp. Ewelina Gryszpan from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Szczecin.
– At home, I stopped looking at the boys and someone came and took them. At the door I found a letter demanding a million ransom francs – says Rolf Wegmüller.
The kidnapper – as it turned out, a 38 -year -old resident of Szczecin – sent SMSs to the animal owner. Initially, Stuttgart appointed dog transfer to the place of transferring dogs. Later – Berlin. He also lowered from the price. He offered dogs for 250,000 Swiss francs.
– Such an amount in such a short time was unattainable to me. I asked to send me their photos, and he wrote back that he could send me a photo of their heads – recalls Rolf Wegmüller.

The kidnapper, however, made a mistake and sent a photo of dogs taken near the border with Poland. The Polish police were informed about the case – she detained the criminal in 24 hours. – Thank you. They are heroes – says Rolf Wegmüller.
Before the Swiss came to Poland, the recovered dogs were looked after by the Society for the Care of Animals in Szczecin.
– Two males, small, very friendly. It was obvious that they were very scared. They clung to man very much. Very cuddly, but you can see that they wanted to come back and miss their owner – says Marlena Sobczak from the Society for the Care of Animals in Szczecin.
Their kidnapper behind bars will not go yet, although he must count on restrictions.
– In the form of police supervision, combined, among others, with a ban on leaving the country, as well as a ban on contacting the victim – informs Łukasz Błogowski from the District Prosecutor's Office in Szczecin.
He did not earn. He got caught. A trial awaits him. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
