Rafał Trzaskowski won the primaries and became the Civic Coalition's candidate for president. Trzaskowski obtained 74.75 percent. votes, his opponent Radosław Sikorski obtained 25.25 percent votes. Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced the results on Saturday at a meeting of the PO National Council.

Later, when asked by Arleta Zalewska, a journalist of “Fakty” TVN, whether the primaries were a good idea, he replied: – Well, you see, it's great.

The Prime Minister did not agree with the statement about the “knockout” of Sikorski. – Everyone who made this choice knew that they were both really great. If someone voted for Rafał Trzaskowski, it was with full conviction and with great regret that he could not vote for both, Tusk said.

Journalists also asked Tusk about who he voted for. He replied that “the chairman is always neutral.”
