The draft regulation published on June 13 by the Government Legislation Center introduces The obligation to install elevators (passenger lifts) in multi -family residential buildings, which have three or more floors. Thousands of cooperatives must make changes
The need to make changes will be concern about 3,500 housing communities and cooperatives. Their duty will be to cover the cost of adding passenger lifts in existing buildings, if necessary. However, this can lead to an increase in the price per square meter of the apartment.
Possible funding from the Funds
Cooperatives, however, can obtain funding from the government availability fund run by Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego and from the State Fund for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled. In the case of the second source, the condition for receiving support is to ensure the availability of at least two premises of residents with disabilities of the musculoskeletal system.
When do the new regulations come into force?
In the absence of an elevator, it will be necessary to build a ramp. New recipes They will become effective from September 20, 2026, However, part of the regulation will be in force from December 31, 2026, and on December 31, 2029, apartment owners will have to accept the decision on the elevator. At the same time, the draft regulation also dealt with the issue of the energy efficiency of buildings, including the introduction of a “non -emission” standard for new buildings or equipping them with devices ensuring automatic control, regulation and monitoring, if it is technical and economic.
