Hungary is becoming a “safe haven” for politicians wanted by the justice system in other countries, said Hungarian political scientist and sociologist Edit Zgut-Przybylska, assistant professor at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The government of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has, on several occasions in recent years, given shelter to politicians prosecuted in their countries. On Thursday evening, Gergely Gulyas, head of Prime Minister Viktor Orban's office, confirmed that former Polish Deputy Minister of Justice Marcin Romanowski had received Hungary political asylum.
