Former MEP PIS Ryszard Czarnecki was suspended from the party membership by decision of the president of Law and Justice, Jarosław Kaczyński.as announced on Thursday by the party’s spokesman, Rafał Bochenek.
Czarnecki was detained at Chopin Airport on Wednesday by CBA as part of the proceedings in the Collegium Humanum case. On Thursday evening prosecutors brought two corruption charges against him and his wife. The suspects face up to 10 years in prison. Earlier, in mid-August, the District Prosecutor's Office in Zamość announced the charge against Czarnecki of committing a crime in the case of “mileage allowances”.
The Law and Justice MP was asked about Czarnecki's suspension in Friday's edition of “One on One” on TVN24 Radoslaw Fogiel. – These are standard actions in our political formation. However, we try to maintain these high standards. When reports appeared that the prosecutor's office would probably press charges, the president made the decision to suspend the member's rights – he said.
– Unfortunately, he had to make such decisions many times and this is, among other things, what distinguishes us from other groups – he added.

The politician was asked if he had a favorite when it comes to the PiS candidate for president. “I do,” he replied.
