Difficult road conditions in many places in Poland. The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management warns against dense fog and freezing precipitation, which may cause black ice. It will be dangerous until the morning hours on Thursday.
Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued first-degree meteorological warnings and a threat forecast for the following days.
IMWM warnings – dense fog
Yellow alerts for dense fog have been issued for the following provinces:
- West Pomeranian Voivodeship;
- Pomeranianoutside eastern counties;
- Lower Silesiain the following counties: Kłodzko, Wałbrzych, Kamienna Góra, Karkonosze, Jelenia Góra;
- Greater Polandin the following counties: Kępiński, Ostrzeszów, Kalisz, KaliszTurkish, Kola;
- Łódźin the following counties: Łęczyca, Poddębice, Sieradz, Wieruszów, Wieluń;
- Opole provinceexcept for the extreme western counties;
- Silesianoutside southern and northern counties;
- Lesser Polandoutside southern counties;
- Świętokrzyskie;
- Podkarpackiein the counties of: Niżański, Stalowa Wola, Tarnobrzeg, Tarnobrzeg, Kolbuszów, Mielec, Ropczyce-Sędziszów, Dębica;
- Lublin Province;
- Masovian Voivodeshipin the following counties: Lipsk, Radom, RadomSzydłowiec, Przysucha, Białobrzeski, Kozienice, Garwoliński, Zwoleń.
Dense fog is forecast in places, within which visibility will drop to approximately 100 meters. Locally, there may be freezing fog and roads will become slippery.
The warnings will be valid until 9 a.m. on Thursday.
IMWM warnings – freezing precipitation
Difficult road conditions associated with freezing precipitation will occur in north-eastern Poland. IMWM issued warnings to voivodeships:
- Podlasie;
- Masovian Voivodeshipin the following counties: Sokołów, Ostrów, Wyszków, Pułtusk, Ciechanów, Mława, Przasnysz, Ostrołęka, OstrołękaWęgrowski, Maków.
Light freezing rain or drizzle causing black ice is forecast in places. In the Masovian Voivodeship and in the northern counties of the province. Podlaskie, alarms will be in force until 6 on Thursday, and in the south of the province Podlaskie will be valid at 1-9 on Thursday.
