IMWM warns. Dangerous rime on Polish roads. It can be very slippery in places

These will be challenging hours for many road users. Fog will make traveling difficult in many regions of Poland until almost noon on Thursday. IMWM issued first degree warnings. Moreover, due to low temperatures, frost may form on the roads.

The night from Wednesday to Thursday and Thursday will be foggy. Forecasters of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMWM) issued warnings.

IMWM warnings – dense fog

First degree warnings apply to the following voivodeships: West Pomeranian Voivodeship, Pomeranian, Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, Greater Poland, Lubuskie, Lower Silesia, Opole province, Silesian, Łódź, Masovian Voivodeship, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, Podlasie, Lublin Province and Lesser Poland (except for the following poviats: Tatra, Nowy Sącz, Nowy SączGorlice) and Podkarpackie (except for the following counties: Jasło, Krosno, KrosnoStrzyżowski, Brzozowski, Sanok, Lesko, Bieszczady).

Visibility may be below 200 m in some places. Warnings will be valid from 7 p.m. on Wednesday until 11 on Thursday.

What are IMWM first degree warnings?

Conditions are expected to favor the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material losses and pose a threat to health and life. Conducting business in conditions of exposure to these factors is difficult and dangerous. Expect difficulties resulting from carrying out activities in the hazardous area, including delays caused by traffic disruptions, disruptions to outdoor events or the possibility of their cancellation. Caution is recommended, the need to follow messages and developments in the weather situation.
