Pogoń Szczecin after a defeat in the Polish Cup final with Legia Warsaw 3: 4 failed to return to the league competition. On Saturday afternoon “Portowcy” lost away with Radomiak Radom 0: 2 (0: 1), which is why they lose six points to the third Jagiellonia Białystok, which, however, has one more meeting.
“This direction kills this sport.” Grosicki thunders after a canceled goal in Radom
Robert Kolendowicz's team played a very poor match in Radom, but he could end with another result. All because in the 75th minute, with a result of 0: 1, after the cross from the right side of the field, the ball was directed to Radomiak's goal from a few meters by Kamil Grosicki.
The goal, however, was not finally recognized, because judge Sebastian Krasny was recalled to the monitor, as Efthymis Koulouris played with his hand at the beginning of the action. And although the Greek's hand was clear and was a breach of the rules, it was wondered if the goal action for Pogoń did not start in accordance with the VAR protocol a moment later, from the burst of the footballer Radomiak Bruno Jordao, after which the ball continued to remain under the penalty area of Radomiak.
“I would like to be able to say that it was nice to meet the worst judge in the Premier League – but it was not. What a shame for Polish football. Judging was like a farce from the Greek III league. Cleathed, inconsistent and shameful!” – The owner of Pogoń Alex Haditaghi thundered after the match.
Look: Szczęsny stole the show! Space, real cinema, tears. They didn't show it on TV
Kamil Grosicki cannot reconcile with the decision of the judges, who on Sunday at 21:39 published an eloquent post on the portal X.
– We play poorly. We level it. We feel that we can fight for more. We are still fighting for the podium. I don't rather comment on judges. Now I have to. I don't understand what happened in Radom. VAR was to help, but not to defend every decision. This direction kills this sport – wrote “Grosik”.
Grosicki in the comments based his words on expert opinions. In “League+ Extra” Filip Surma together with the judges' expert Adam Lyczmański analyzed this situation and they were of the opinion that VAR should not actually react due to the start of the new action after the storm of Jordao, and the judges on the VAR cart showed their zeal. It was summed up, however, that the error was fixed with another mistake, because Koulouris's hand should end with a free kick for Radomiak.
Grosicki played in 36 matches this season, scored eight goals and had 14 assists.
