Heavy rainfall begins to take their toll on the inhabitants of Italy, mainly Piedmont. The fire brigade said on Thursday morning that over the past 32 hours, over 300 interventions were carried out in the province due to heavy rain, which caused flooding, landslides and trees damage. Most times for action were left in the vicinity of Turin, Biella and Verbania.

The “La Stampa” portal said that many roads in Piedmont are impassable. On Wednesday, around 6pm, the landslide blocked one of the highway lanes connecting Turin with Aosta – security works are carried out on the spot, and the traffic still remains difficult.

Smanders of the Earth and water spilling from the riverbeds also forced the closing of several local roads, especially in the area of ​​Pont-Canaavese and Pinerolo. Landslore also went down around Verbania, where firefighters decided to evacuate 30 residents of Villadosola and Beura-Cardezza.

As explained by the synoptic Arleta Unton-Pyziołek, in the following days the situation in northern Italy may be worse. The lowland system that acquires power carries continuous rainfall, which can persist over the region for several days.

– Piedmont and Lombardy, and even Switzerland are threatened with flooding and floods. Only on Thursday in the Alpine river basins in 12 hours it should fall to 100 liters of water per square meter – she explained. She added that rainfall related to the Genoese Lowland will persist until Saturday, but on Easter, power over the weather on northern Italy will take another than.
