Since Sunday evening – when Joe Biden announced he is resigning from running for re-election and gave his support to Kamala Harris – by Tuesday evening, the politician's campaign had raised as much as $126 million (over 498 million złoty). According to his statement, most of this amount – $81 million – was transferred to the Harris campaign account within the first 24 hours of Biden's decision. This is almost twice as much as Donald Trump raised on his best day and more than any other presidential candidate managed to raise in such a short time USA.
As indicated in a statement released by the vice president's campaign, 1.4 million people have supported her financially so far. Nearly 900,000 of this group were voters who had not yet donated any money to the Democratic campaign this year. Of the new donors, more than 48,000 people decided to support Harris on a recurring basis.
