The away meeting of the Civic Coalition's parliamentary club began on Tuesday late afternoon in Otwock near Warsaw. Prime Minister Donald Tusk is to take part in the talks. The meeting is to discuss the future presidential campaign, but also to summarize the past year since the parliamentary elections.

The meeting started after 6 p.m. One of the MPs from the Civic Coalition, announcing the meeting, said unofficially that current political issues would be discussed, including the future presidential campaign before the 2025 elections. The MP stipulated that the meeting would be a discussion and no decisions would be made.

Another MP – who also did not want to speak under his name – indicated that the club's meeting would be devoted to summarizing the last year that has passed since the parliamentary elections.

The Prime Minister will take part in the club meeting Donald Tusk. – The boss will probably not participate in the entire meeting, but he will come at the end – said one of the KO club members.

In the Sejm elections held on October 15, 2023, PiS won 194 seats, KO – 157, Trzecia Droga – 65, New Left – 26, a Confederation – 18. The coalition formed by KO, Third Way and the Left removed, after two terms, Law and Justice from power.

KO has not yet officially named a presidential candidate for next year's elections. The mayor of Warsaw, deputy head of PO, is mentioned as the most likely candidate Rafał Trzaskowski.

In August, the Prime Minister announced that he did not intend to run for president himself, and Trzaskowski was the most likely candidate. – We should announce the decision about the candidate of the Civic Coalition, or maybe more broadly, maybe the entire coalition on October 15, before Christmas – he said then.
