Konstancin-Jeziorna. Judgment on the murder of 16-year-old Kornelia

A final judgment was passed in the Court of Appeal in Warsaw regarding the murder of 16-year-old Kornelia. A teenager was murdered by a couple of her friends. They buried the body in the forest near Konstancin, in a previously prepared grave.

The Court of Appeal upheld the judgment which He fell in June 2022 in the District Court in Warsaw. Patryk B. and Martyna S. were then sentenced to 25 years imprisonment. There is only one difference compared to this judgment. B. will be able to apply for early release only after 20 years.

She thought it was a birthday party

Prosecutor Szymon Banna from the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw presented the course of the event established by investigators. He reminded that in April 2020, after a few months of searching, the body of a 16-year-old girl was found in the forest in Oborskie. Soon it turned out that Kornelia K. was inspected and then examined at the Department of Forensic Medicine. “She had neck injuries, a shot in his head and soil in the lungs,” he pointed out.

Banna pointed out that the first suspicions of investigators turned out to be correct. – The closest friends of Kornelia K. turned out to be suspected, who, wanting to enter the drug trafficking market, decide to eliminate the competition that Kornelia K allegedly was supposed to be for them. For this purpose, they also arranged a birthday party – said the prosecutor.

Patryk B. and Martyna S. were to proceed to the implementation of their plan, but he did not go to the end. Pneumatic weapon, which Patryk B. directs towards Kornelia, did not burn. This did not change their plans. – Patryk B. began to catch Kornelia K. from behind, moving to actual stewing. Martyna S. shot her three times from a pneumatic weapon in the head – continued the prosecutor.

The grave was already prepared

According to the prosecutor's office B. and S., they then placed the body of the victim in the grave they had previously prepared. Then they covered them with earth. According to investigators, they were also to take Korneli's things, and S., in order to blur the traces, sent a text to the boy of Kornelia that she was breaking with him. “Then, as if nothing, she took part in the life of the community, pretending to be worried and ignorance about the disappearance of Cornelia,” Banna supplemented, pointing out that these are the facts that the first instance court had already established.

The representative of the auxiliary prosecutors, i.e. the parents of the deceased 16-year-old, in turn called the crime “macabrely undertaken game” with Cornelia and luring her (to the forest) in a “particularly cruel” way.

The verdict regarding the murder of 16-year-old Kornelia was passed in June 2022 in the District Court in Warsaw. Patryk B. and Martyna S. were sentenced to 25 years imprisonment. However, all parties did not agree with this judgment, which is why the case was again on the court.

The first hearing in the Court of Appeal took place at the end of January. Martyna S. gave her statement before the court, who apologized to Kornelia's parents for what happened. On the day of the murder of S. she was 17 years old, she met with nine years older than her Patryk B.

The judgment announced on Wednesday, March 26, is already final.
