The Koszalin prosecutor's office accused a retired nurse of exposing 40 children to the risk of serious health damage. She was supposed to perform vaccinations with an unknown preparation. These practices allegedly took place in 2016-2019. The woman pleaded not guilty to the crimes she was accused of.
The District Prosecutor's Office in Koszalin brought an indictment to court against a nurse who was supposed to perform vaccinations with an unidentified preparation. The woman allegedly gave 40 children a different vaccine than she declared. She faces up to eight years in prison.
According to the prosecutor's office, the nurse suggested that parents receive non-reimbursed vaccinations against several diseases in one preparation.
– Parents who decided to get this vaccine came to the clinic where the vaccine was already waiting for them and the child was vaccinated after a medical examination – said prosecutor Ewa Dziadczyk from the District Prosecutor's Office in Koszalin, supervising the investigation. – After conducting proceedings in this case, I determined that the children were not vaccinated with this preparation. They were vaccinated that day, but certainly not with the non-reimbursed vaccines for which their parents paid, she added.

The suspect was charged with exposing children to the risk of serious bodily harm. – Children were not given the vaccine, so they may not have been immunized against serious diseases. It's about 40 children, Dziadczyk said.
The woman was also charged with extorting money. It may be at least PLN 16,000.
– I was not able to determine exactly how much parents paid for vaccinations. There are no documents proving that they paid for them, nor did they receive any proof of payment. They do not remember exactly what the amounts were. Each of these vaccines, about which I have doubts, which should be administered, consists of three doses plus a booster dose – said Dziadczyk.
The proceedings cover the years from 2016 to 2019. The case came to light after one of the mothers realized that the cost of vaccination from a nurse was lower than the price of this preparation in a pharmacy.
– The woman asked the manufacturer whether the vaccine had been produced with the number and series included in the child's health booklet. She received information that the manufacturer had not produced such a vaccine. Another parent took a similar step and received the same answer, Dziadczyk explained.
The nurse is already on retired. She pleaded not guilty to the charges against her. She faces up to eight years in prison.
