When the prosecutor's office expects me to do so, of course I will appear and tell my point of view on this matter – said PiS MP Krzysztof Szczucki, former head of the Government Legislation Center, in “Kropka nad i”. He referred to the charges that investigators want to bring against him and the request to waive his immunity. When asked if he would give it up himself, he said he was “inclined to do so.”

Attorney General Adam Bodnar directed three on Thursday requests to waive the immunity of MPs Krzysztof Szczucki and Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski and MEP Daniel Obajtek. The spokeswoman for the Prosecutor General, Anna Adamiak, explained at the conference that the collected evidence shows that Szczucki, when he was the president of the Government Legislation Center, made changes to the organizational structure of this institution and established a department in which he employed people outside the competition.

These people – as she said – did not work for RCL, although they received remuneration for their employment. – However, they provided assistance to the MP in his election campaign, organizing meetings and undertaking promotional activities – she added.

Szczucki referred to the case in “Kropka nad i” on TVN24. In the program, he was asked, among other things, whether he would appear at the prosecutor's office if the prosecutor called him.

– A few months ago, I sent a letter to the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw through my attorney, declaring that I was able to come at any time and answer questions. And this will also be the case when the prosecutor's office – I assume that probably in the new year – expects me to do so, then of course I will appear and tell what my point of view on this case is, he said.

When asked whether he would waive his immunity, he said he was “inclined to do so.” – But I don't want to dot the i's yet because I need to read the documents. I want to know exactly what the prosecutor wants to accuse me of, and what constitutes the request to waive my immunity, said Szczucki.

– I have read the message on the website, but I assume that the application will be broader. After reviewing it, I will communicate the final decision to you. But yes, I am leaning towards this decision, he said.
