Carbon monoxide poisoning occurred in a single-family house in Kutno. There was a family of five people in the building. Two boys, aged 9 and 12, died. Three LPR helicopters arrived at the scene and took the injured to hospital.
On Tuesday, around 6 p.m., firefighters were called to a single-family house in Kutno at ul. Piwna. According to the spokesman of the Łódź Provincial Commander of the State Fire Service, Brig. Jędrzej Pawlak, firefighters were alerted by family members that the family living there “showed no signs of life.”
– At first, one team was sent, which after entering the apartment immediately detected a high concentration of carbon monoxide. Firefighters immediately began searching the building. Five people were evacuated from this building – two adults and three children – he said.
Two boys are dead
The baby was in “best condition,” as the spokesman said. There were also parents in the building whose vital functions were preserved. Two boys, aged 9 and 12, who were also at home, had no vital signs. Brig. Pawlak said that despite resuscitation efforts, they could not be saved.
Three medical rescue teams arrived at the scene and three LPR helicopters arrived and transported the injured to the hospital.
The spokesman added that there was no carbon monoxide detector installed in the building.
Also in Koszalin, carbon monoxide poisoning occurred on Christmas Eve afternoon. The woman died and the two children in the apartment with her were taken to hospital.
