Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Digitization Krzysztof Gawkowski stated in the “#bezkit” program that the previous program addressed to students (“laptop for the student” – ed.) Was not well prepared. – Students received laptops and many students, and many schools, and many teachers said, this is a stupid idea that we are giving away laptops without programs in the middle, only laptops. Pure equipment, do what you want – he said.

He emphasized that not only laptops, but also tablets or other devices will be offered in the new program. – First of all, there will be a wider choice. Secondly, there will also be materials that will give (defined) educational level. And this is the difference, that is, we think that the “digital student” (the name of the new program – ed.) Indeed is to give a sense of such security, ensuring technology for the youngest – he explained.

He emphasized that a tender will be announced next month. – It will be the largest (such – ed.) Tender in Europe. It will be announced in April, later he will remain a few weeks to decide – said the deputy prime minister. He added that delays may result from possible appeals. Computers are to reach schools at the beginning of the new school year, i.e. in September 2025.

The deputy prime minister was asked if the devices could be taken home. “Of course, the point is that these devices can be taken home,” he assured.

At the beginning of February this year, “Rzeczpospolita” said that in spring the Ministry of Digitization is to announce a tender for the purchase of hundreds of thousands of laptops and tablets for students as part of the “Digital Student” program. According to the journal – unlike in the government program PIS – Laptops will not be distributed to students. “The school will decide who will be able to use them. Distribution will take place according to the region's wealth indicator,” wrote “RZ”.

“Strange situation”

Gawkowski commented on TVN24 also the words nominated by Donald Trump for the position of ambassador USA In Poland, Thomas Rose, who threatened that Trump will retaliate with the introduction of digital tax.

– This is a fairly bizarre situation that when in the government, the ministry, politicians begin to write or analyze some right, the future ambassador says, no matter what state and says, well, you have no right to do it, because someone will be angry, my boss will be angry – he said.

– In Poland, the time in which someone wrote the law in a different language has ended forever. Poland, no state is a vanity and will not be. And that's why, as the Lord asks me if these works will continue, they will, they will – he added.

The deputy prime minister pointed out that digital tax in some countries has been in force for several years. – If we counted only what other countries have done in the last five years, because this tax in many countries like France, Great Britainit has been for five years, we say that we have lost (money – ed.), We could introduce 10 or 15 billion zlotys into the budget – he said.

Cyberrataki in Poland. Minister with statistics

Gawkowski was also asked about cyber attacks in Poland and their statistics.

– 2-2.5 thousand various types of incidents are reported a day. Those that are taken and we know that they were cyber attacks are 200-300. This means that in a month we have 60,000 applications and 10-15 thousand taken. And below one percent goes. But according to the likelihood, they will succeed. That is, it is not possible that we have defended themselves with everything with such a complex critical infrastructure system in every country today – he said.

He assured that “Poland has one of the best cyberspace systems today, certainly at the government level.”

The deputy prime minister at the same time said that “we are today in the digital war with Russia.” – They attack us. They do it deliberately. They want to destabilize the situation – he pointed out. He admitted that Russia and Belarus They are directions from which the most cyber attacks come from.

– They want to attack us. They also do it with sabotage. They also introduce various types of encouragements. They want to buy people, Poles, to disinformation. They pay well – he continued, adding that these are the amount of “3-4 thousand euros for recruited people”.

– But this is normally espionage. So it is worth saying that if someone had thought of entering such things, then there is a fat prison – emphasized Gawkowski.
