He enjoyed his driving license for half a year, now he has a three-month break. Police officers from Leszno (Greater Poland Voivodeship) detained an 18-year-old who exceeded the speed limit by 86 kilometers per hour. In addition to the temporary loss of driving privileges, he also received 15 penalty points and a fine.
– The streets of Leszno are not a race track – police remind us after they arrested 22 road traffic offenders within a few hours on Saturday. Most of them exceeded the speed limit.
– The record holder was an 18-year-old driver who drove at a speed of 156 kilometers per hour in Leszno on Aleja Konstytucji 3. Maja. Meanwhile, the speed limit in this place is 70 kilometers per hour – says the subcommand. Monika Å»ymeÅ‚ka, spokeswoman of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Leszno.
Due to his age, it is known that the driver of this car is a young driver. He passed his driving test only half a year ago. He will not be able to use his rights in the near future.
– This young man exceeded the speed limit by 86 kilometers per hour. He has just lost his recently obtained driving license for three months. In addition, he received a fine of PLN 2,500 and 15 penalty points – says Å»ymeÅ‚ka.
Of the 22 drivers mentioned, another one exceeded the speed limit by more than 50 kilometers per hour and thus also lost his driving license for three months. – Aleja Konstytucji 3. Maja is a long road running through Leszno, so some drivers can really speed up there. We are trying to patrol this sensitive place – adds the policewoman.
“Stop road rage”
Every road user has an impact on road safety, and not only by respecting the regulations. The police encourage you to report any dangerous situations or aggressive behavior you witness to the “Stop road aggression” e-mail address. When sending the recording, it is also worth providing as much data as possible: the date, the exact place of the incident and, for example, the make and license plate of the car whose driver broke the regulations. Providing the reporting person's data will also help the police effectively punish the perpetrator.
