Łódź. A tram derailed on one of the most frequented routes

In the very center of Łódź, on one of the most frequented routes, a tram derailed. Passengers had to change to replacement buses. The tram traffic in both directions was suspended.

The incident occurred around 7 o'clock, on Zachodna Street at Ogrodowa Street. The tram No. 19 derailed there. This is one of the most frequented routes in Łódź. The LDZ Motorized service Łódź residents have published standing trams blocking traffic at the intersection on social media.

Wagon insertion action completed

In connection with the event, passengers had to change to replacement buses. After 8.30, the spokesman of the carrier informed that the wagon that fell out of the rails was already able to lift and put on the track again. – The tram has already been put on the rails and went to the depot to check. Before releasing the movement, we check the track thoroughly – said Piotr Wasiak. He added that nobody had suffered in the event.
