Łódź. Fire in a tenement house at Wojska Polskiego Street. Firefighters saved a sick 45-year-old woman and her dog

Police officers from Łódź entered a burning tenement house at Wojska Polskiego Street, took a disabled woman out and then returned for her dog. The course of the action can be seen in the published recording from the body-worn camera of one of the officers. Fortunately, no one was hurt in the end.

The fire occurred on December 27 after 8 p.m. “Police patrols were called to Wojska Polskiego Street where the fire broke out. On site, the officers noticed smoke coming from the apartment on the third floor. One tenant informed the police that there was a woman in the burning premises. he has problems with movement,” says junior aspirant Maksymilian Jasiak from the Łódź city police in a statement published on the police website.

The police showed a video in which you can see and hear that the officers ran to the premises without hesitation. The recording shows that they were struggling through increasingly thick smoke, which irritated their respiratory system and forced them to cough.

After entering the premises, the woman there is nervous and says that she cannot run away because she is missing one of her legs. “The police took the 45-year-old woman out and handed her over to the firefighters who arrived at the scene,” we read in the statement.

The police also rescued the woman's dog.

The police say that in the end, no one was seriously injured. “The evacuated residents of the tenement house, after completing the fire extinguishing operation, could safely return to their premises,” says Junior Asp. Jasiak.
