Maciej Wąsik and Mariusz Kamiński without immunity. Politicians comment

– These are criminals who were legally convicted and were pardoned twice by President Andrzej Duda – said Deputy Minister of Funds and Regional Policy Jacek Karnowski on Tuesday in “Facts after Facts”, referring to PiS politicians Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik, whom the European Parliament repealed immunities. According to PiS MP Krzysztof Ciecióra, it was a “political decision”. “You have to put these people into prison under any pretext,” he said.

The European Parliament repealed the immunity of former ministers on Tuesday, and currently PiS MEPs – Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik. The prosecutor's office accuses them of not complying with the final judgment of the District Court in Warsaw of December 20, 2023which ruled a five -year ban on public functions and two years imprisonment in connection with operational activities during the so -called land scandal.

Kamiński and Wąsik did not recognize this decision and took part in the deliberations of the Sejm, disagreeing with the decision to expire their parliamentary fines.

On Tuesday, guests of “Facts after Facts” on TVN24 were the deputy minister at the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy Jacek Karnowski (KO) and PiS MP Krzysztof Cieciera, who commented on the decision of the EP.

“I hope that the next president will not pardon his colleagues”

– The European Parliament discerned this matter, repealed this immunity, but I would like to emphasize that these are criminals who were legally convicted and were pardoned twice by the President Andrzej Duda. People who were in prison and as colleagues with whom he was squeezing (Duda – ed.) And kept in the Presidential Palace, pardoned them – reminded Karnowski. He expressed the hope that the next president “would not pardon his colleagues.”

Ciecióra, however, stated that in the case of Wąsik and Kamiński “we see a spectacle here”. “The political decision has been made, you must put these people into prison under any pretext,” he said.

The leader Grzegorz Kajdanowicz pointed out that the vast majority in the EP voted in order to repeal the immunity of Wąsik and Kamiński. – Let's remember that not only Polish European Parliamentarians are avoided by immunity – said Ciecióra.

The PiS MP was asked where in the decision about the immunity of Wąsik and Kamiński he sees a political decision. -in Poland (there is -ed.) A political decision to put as many as possible, or any PiS in prison (…). First, the immunity must be repealed to start it – he said.

Ciecióra emphasized that at the moment the Speaker of the Sejm is Szymon Hołownia And “he should explain himself”. “If you think that they (Kamiński and Wąsik – ed.) Unlawfully took part in the vote, then Hołownia is guilty,” he said.
