There will be a loan for Zabrze: Ministry of Finance will support a Silesian city in a difficult financial situation. The Zabrze authorities applied by as much as PLN 373 millionand the Ministry of Finance will lend it to him 354 million. Minister Andrzej DomaĆski emphasized that it is also necessary to check why the city found itself in such a situation and whether there has been any mismanagement.
The city is fighting for finances: Importantly, if Zabrze had not obtained a loan from the Ministry of Finance, it would have had to implement the so-called recovery program. It would result, among others, in: serious limitations in terms of spending money by local government. Let us recall that in November, councilors from Zabrze already agreed to adopt “Prudential Program“.
Where does the debt come from? – – One of the problems that our predecessors generated is that, until now, the city has not really been loans were taken from residents. How? By failure to pay arrears towards housing communities, failure to pay outstanding contributions to ZUS or failure to pay the Upper Silesian-ZagĆÄbie Metropolis for public transport. That's just it some problemsthat our city had to face – explained the mayor of Zabrze, Agnieszka Rupniewska, in November. The city's debt was then high almost PLN 900 million.
