Doctors are fighting for the life of a 12-year-old girl who drowned in a swimming pool in Mielec in Podkarpacie. The girl spent several minutes at the bottom of the tank. The child is in a medically induced coma.
The incident took place on Saturday evening at the swimming pool of the Municipal Sports and Recreation Center (MOSiR) at ul. Solski in Mielec. One of the women swimming noticed a girl lying at the bottom, at a depth of two meters.

Life-threatening condition
– Our findings show that the child was lying on the bottom for several minutes. The woman notified the lifeguard, who pulled the 12-year-old girl out of the water. Then the girl was taken by the emergency medical team to the hospital in Rzeszów. Her condition is life-threatening, the subordinate told us. Bernadetta Krawczyk, press officer of the Mielec police.

According to Krawczyk, the girl was at the swimming pool with her family. – Investigative activities are ongoing. We check, among other things, under what circumstances the girl found herself at the bottom. All witnesses will be interviewed, the spokeswoman emphasized.
The pool where the accident occurred is two meters deep, 15 meters wide and 25 meters long. The MOSiR website shows that it is a sports pool, not a swimming pool.
