Monika Wielichowska and Piotr Zgorzelski in “Fakty po Faktach”

President Andrzej Duda delivered the speech in the Sejm on Wednesday message on the occasion of the anniversary of the parliamentary elections. He devoted a lot of space to the issue of security, which – as he emphasized – “must be taken beyond the pale of the party dispute.” Despite the initially conciliatory tone, there were also some critical words towards the government. – You were wrong then and I'm afraid you are wrong now, too – he said, referring to the migration strategy presented by Prime Minister Tusk. He talked about large investments such as the Central Communication Port, and also referred to the dispute over ambassadors.

The president's speech was commented on in “Fakty po Faktach” by the deputy speakers of the Sejm, Monika Wielichowska (KO) and Piotr Zgorzelski (PSL).

– The message was confrontational and very aggressive. I don't remember such an aggressive speech after 1989. The president was never the president of all Poles, he never left the shoes of Law and Justice. He did not speak to Poles today, he spoke to voters of only one option – said Monika Wielichowska.

– The president had a chance to speak like a statesman again today. He behaved like a PiS politician at the level of MP Matecki. He had a chance, but he didn't take advantage of it again. However, he took advantage of the moment to start the presidential campaign of Law and Justice, she added.

– I had a glimmer of hope that in the last stretch of his presidency, Mr. Andrzej Duda would have a message about the Polish raison d'état, about the community – said Piotr Zgorzelski (PSL) in “Fakty po Faktach”.

– During these 40 minutes, you could have said something that would cover not only the side of Law and Justice. The president often said that he was the president of all Poles. Here he was the president of all PiS supporters, he said.

Monika Wielichowska also said on TVN24 that she has an appointment with Piotr Zgorzelski on Thursday to talk about draft laws on abortion. – We have an interview scheduled tomorrow. I hope it will happen, said the MP. In addition to Wielichowska and Zgorzelski, Monika Rosa (KO) and Dorota Łoboda (KO) are scheduled to take part in the meeting.

– We will try to convince the Marshal to allow the first reading. The print number has been assigned for a long time. We would like to combine our decriminalization project with the Third Way project, she added.

– I'm available tomorrow. (…) The marshal will come with her friends and we will talk. There is room for this – replied Piotr Zgorzelski.

– The point is (also) that this first reading (the bill – ed.) does not end up in the trash, but that it goes to the committee's work – added Monika Wielichowska.
