– Zbigniew Ziobro will not be broken, he will not come before this commission – said Michał Wójcik in “Kropka nad i” on TVN24, referring to the fact that the prosecutor's office submitted a request for the consent of the Sejm to bring the former Minister of Justice before the investigative commission into the Pegasus case. – We are all equal before the law – commented KO senator Krzysztof Kwiatkowski. Miłosz Motyka from PSL, deputy minister of climate and environment, added that Ziobro was “reached by justice”.
In the first part of the program, a telephone call was made to the former deputy minister of justice, a member of parliament from the club PIS Michał Wójcik, one of the closest associates of the former Minister of Justice Zbigniew Ziobro.
He was asked about the request that the National Prosecutor's Office forwarded to the Prosecutor General Adam Bodnar, for the consent of the Sejm to detain Ziobro and bring him before the investigative commission into the Pegasus case.
Wójcik: Zbigniew Ziobro will not appear at the commission
– I talked to Minister Ziobro just before merging with you. I can say one thing: Zbigniew Ziobro will not be broken. Certainly, what is happening today is a truly drastic, brutal and cruel violation of the law – said Wójcik.
– Let me remind you that Constitutional Tribunal handed down the verdict a few weeks ago. And let me remind you that according to the Polish constitution, judgments are final, there is no doubt about that. This is an attempt to violate the constitution – continued Wójcik, referring to the security provided by Julia Przyłębska of the Constitutional Tribunal, which was intended to block the work of the parliamentary investigative committee into the Pegasus affairs.
Wójcik believes that “Zbigniew Ziobro will certainly not appear before this committee.” He said that if Ziobro was actually brought by force to the committee meeting, “it would be a gross violation of the law.”
“We are all equal before the law”
The guests of the program were also senator of the Civic Coalition Krzysztof Kwiatkowski and Miłosz Motyka from PSL, Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment. They referred to Wójcik's words regarding Zbigniew Ziobro.
Senator Kwiatkowski said that “forced bringing to court, depending on the year, happens to hundreds and sometimes even thousands of people.” He added that the “only difference” was that Zbigniew Ziobro “thought that no one would ever dare to force him because he was Zbigniew Ziobro.” – No, we are all equal before the law and this is not an extraordinary situation. The police perform these activities quite often – added Kwiatkowski.
“This is the fulfillment of Zbigniew Ziobro's wish”
Miłosz Motyka also commented on the matter.
– We also fulfill wishes, because this is the fulfillment of the wish of Zbigniew Ziobro, who directly stated that he hopes that we will not be losers. He probably said this to state institutions, which today respect the law and true justice. And Zbigniew Ziobro was served by this justice – he said.
The PSL representative assured that the investigative commission into the Pegasus case was legally elected. – Moreover, we also hear from Mr. Wójcik and other PiS politicians that, for example, the prosecutor's office is illegal, that these are Bodnarists. But here Zbigniew Ziobro has no problem appearing before the prosecutor's office, for example in his own case. So I think that if he had nothing to hide here, and he himself said that honest people have nothing to fear, he would show up – added the Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment.
