In the years 2018-2024, 176 municipalities introduced the night prohibition, in 30 it applies to part of the commune or city; 9 municipalities overturned the ban, in 5 the voivode opened the resolution or part of it, and in one commune the invalidity of the resolution stated Supreme Administrative Court.

This is 7.1 percent. all local governments in Poland. Most such solutions were adopted in the voivodships: Mazowiecki (26 local governments), Lesser Poland (20) and Greater Poland (20).

Sales restriction is to apply in stores and at gas stations. Night prohibition will not apply to restaurants, bars, pubs, etc.. If the councilors adopted a resolution, it would enter into force 14 days from the date of its publication in the Official Journal of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship and publication in the Public Information Bulletin of the Capital City of Warsaw. Over the past three decades, the method of alcohol consumption in our country has changed. Beer consumption increased, the consumption of spirit drinks has slightly decreased. On average, every Pole drank six liters of wine in 2023, seven and a half liters of vodka and other strong alcohols and 99 liters of beer.

He also added: – Availability of alcohol is repeatedly a proven factor of pathologization, especially the young generation.

Already in February 2023, in the material “Poland and the world” experts beat the alarm – it was stated then that over 80 percent of adult Poles reached for a glass, and as many as six million citizens of our country feel problems with drinking or its consequences.
