North Korean soldiers changed their fighting tactics in the Kursk Oblast

North Korean soldiers, whom the Russian army uses in the war with Ukraine, have changed their attack tactics in the Kursk Oblast, said Ukrainian political and military scientist Kyrylo Sazonav. According to AP, hundreds of Korean soldiers fighting Ukrainian forces in the border region were killed or wounded.

– North Korean soldiers changed their tactics. If previously they attacked the positions of Ukrainian forces (in the Kursk region) with one or two soldiers, now it has increased to 30-50 – Kyrylo Sazonav, a political scientist who fights in the armed forces, told Channel 24 television Ukraine. – This makes them an excellent target for our defenders – added Sazonav.

Koreans “go first”

According to Sazonav, Kim Jong Un's soldiers are used by the Russians during “meat attacks”. – Kim's soldiers go first. The Russians, on the other hand, use drones to search for Ukrainian army positions, attack them, and then send more professional attack units there, said the Channel 24 interlocutor.

Sazonav recalled that when it comes to “meat assaults”, North Korean soldiers replaced Russian prisoners who “performed such tasks.”

According to the Associated Press, citing its own sources, so far several hundred North Korean soldiers fighting Ukrainian forces in the Kursk Oblast in Russia have been killed or wounded. AP cites a high-ranking military official. He did not provide details on the exact number of dead, but said the North Koreans “do not appear to be battle-hardened, which contributes to the number of losses they have suffered.”
