The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity donated approximately PLN 19 million to support the hospital in Nysa after the flood. A stationary computed tomography scanner was delivered to the facility, magnetic resonance imaging was purchased, as well as equipment for a diagnostic laboratory, an ophthalmology clinic, an endoscopy laboratory and a hospital emergency department. – The facts are that this aid reached us and helped us a lot in opening the hospital – emphasizes Artur Kamiński, director of the hospital in Nysa.

WOŚP allocated PLN 40 million of its funds to help flood victims, mainly for medical equipment for hospitals in Nysa and Kłodzko. These funds came from donations, sponsors and 1.5 percent. tax, not “money from cans”. Additionally, a collection was launched in September 2024, which brought over PLN 32 million – a total of PLN 72 million to fight the effects of the flood. PLN 19 million. Artur Kamiński, director of the hospital in Nysa, responds to the accusations of WOŚP haters in a conversation with a TVN24 reporter.

– We are surrounded by components of all the equipment of the new stationary computed tomography scanner purchased by the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, which arrived at our hospital – says the director of the hospital in Nysa.
Thanks to the help of WOŚP, it was possible to purchase new equipment for the medical facility, including: equipment for the ophthalmology clinic and endoscopy laboratory.
In Nysa, where the hospital was flooded, the Orchestra provided a mobile CT scanner and purchased a new one for almost PLN 5 million, which is waiting to be installed.
– The room is currently being adapted for this equipment. Construction and technical works have already started and will last about a month. The room will be adapted, and then the equipment will be placed there. We will then be able to start operating a stationary computed tomography laboratory and abandon the mobile tomography scanner. This is crucial for us because we will have a stationary laboratory and we will be able to carry out more diagnostic imaging tests and increase the pace of our hospital – he reports.

In addition to a stationary computed tomography and stationary magnetic resonance imaging device, we also managed to purchase equipment for the Hospital Emergency Department, including: defibrillators, anesthesia machines, patient transport trolleys, ECG machines, cardiac massage board, ultrasound machine, wheelchairs and anesthetic wheelchairs, etc.
– This is expensive equipment. The entire computed tomography scanner plus room adaptation costs approximately PLN 5 million. The facts are that this aid reached us and helped us a lot in opening the hospital. The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity will definitely continue to help us, because I have declarations from the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity that this help will also be in kind – he adds.
“Our plans include the purchase of medical equipment for Nysa – including a laboratory for fighting sepsis, which was completely destroyed in the flood,” Owsiak announced.

Without the stationary diagnostic laboratory and the quick provision of equipment by the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, we would not have been able to open the hospital on October 18.
