Over seventeen thousand allegations for 46 people – members of the garbage mafia. The services broke the group dealing with, among others, tax offenses, tax extortion or transporting hazardous waste. At the request of the prosecutor, the court applied temporary detention to thirteen suspects.
– Among the detainees there is a person who issued over 600 fictitious VAT invoices for an amount exceeding PLN 11 million. Other suspects illegally transported hazardous waste, including carcinogenic, to landfills intended only for waste other than hazardous waste – said the spokesman CBŚP Commissioner Krzysztof Wrześniowski.
The prosecutor from the Łódź division of the National Prosecutor's Office raised a total of over 17,000 charges. Four people were accused of managing an organized criminal group, 44 participation in this group, and 15 – money laundering. In addition, suspects will be responsible for violations of environmental regulations and falsification of documents.

Crimes against the environment
A press officer of the Tax Administration Chamber in Olsztyn Aspirant Marta Rosiak announced that the criminal group committed crimes against the environment.
– They consisted of fictitious waste trading, issuing and using unreliable waste transfer cards regarding the actual storage and transfer of waste – explained aspirant Rosiak.

The action was attended by officers of the Central Police Investigation Bureau from Bydgoszcz, the Warmian-Masurian Customs and Tax Office in Olsztyn and the Chief Inspectorate for Environmental Protection from Warsaw.
