Opole. Drivers rode against the tide corridor of life on the highway

At least 40 drivers turned back and drove against the Corridor of Life on the A4 motorway near Opole – according to the relationship of Mr. Marcin, which we received on contact 24. One of the roads was blocked in connection with the accident. The irresponsible drivers had to travel against a longer distance – 16 kilometers were to the nearest congress.

A serious accident between Brzeg and Opole West nodes on the A4 motorway occurred on Friday. As a result of the collision of two passenger cars, four people were injured. The roadway towards Katowice was blocked for a long time during the work of emergency services.

“The number of backs was huge”

Although the drivers perfectly formed the corridor of life, after some time some of them lacked patience. Mr. Marcin, who together with his wife got stuck in a traffic jam around 18 o'clock, reported in an interview with contact journalists24 that after about an hour and a half standing in place, the first cars began to turn back and go against the tide corridor of life.

– Later the number of turning cars was huge. I counted at the beginning of 40, 50, but there were many more later – he reported. Mr. Marcin has provided us with a recording on which he registered a passage of several vehicles. According to his account, the nearest congress was about 16 kilometers from the place where he recorded the recording.

Mr. Marcin added that other drivers who were waiting for the road to unblock were, like he was surprised by the behavior of turning drivers. – At some point such holes between cars were done. I joked with another waiting driver that we would stay a few trucks behind us. Those who waited were shocked. You can count on Polish drivers in creating the corridor of life, but there will also be those who will use it in an egoistic way to escape from waiting for unlocking – he said.

– We traveled 1600 km from Doncaster in Great Britain to see Polish solidarity in a difficult time and maximum egoism. On the one hand, I was proud of my countrymen, but on the other shocked and disappointed – said Marcin.
