Marcin Wasilewski has been appointed to the Orlen board of directors for technology. Wasilewski is to resign from his position as president of InnoEnergy by the end of this year and join Orlen on January 1, 2025.
“(…) On September 25, 2024, the Supervisory Board appointed Mr. Marcin Wasilewski to the Company's Management Board, effective January 1, 2025, as Member of the Management Board for Technology, for the joint term of office of the Management Board, which ends on the date of the Ordinary General Meeting approving the Company's financial statements for 2025,” Orlen SA announced in a stock exchange announcement on Wednesday.
Who is Marcin Wasilewski?
As also reported in the press release, Wasilewski is a manager who has been involved in the energy industry and transformation for years. Since 2022, he has been the president of InnoEnergy Polska and a member of the Executive Board of InnoEnergy SE in Netherlands (headquarters). It was added that InnoEnergy's portfolio includes over 180 companies in Europe in the area of ​​green transformation.
In 2018-2022, Wasilewski served as Vice President at ABB Polska, where he managed the energy and heavy industry sectors in Poland, Czech Republic and on Hungary. In the years 2006-2018 he was associated with Orlen. He served as chairman of the supervisory board of Anwil and president of Baltic Power and a member of the supervisory board of Orlen Lietuva and other companies from the Orlen Group. He is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University, University of Bradford, Warsaw University of Technology and Harvard University.

Resignation from current position
The announcement noted that Wasilewski had submitted a written statement of his intention to resign from the position of president of InnoEnergy, whose business is competitive with Orlen. The resignation will come into effect by December 31 of this year.
