In a spacious one presentation of the Orlen Group showing “Consolidated financial results” for the third quarter of this year, it can be seen that the company focuses mainly on EBITDA. We thus learned that at the EBITDA LIFO level Orlen recorded a profit of PLN 8.8 billion – which turned out to be in line with their estimates. Result adjusted for the impact of one-off events and regulations, it amounted to PLN 8.1 billion, showing a “slight” decrease compared to last year's PLN 8.6 billion – “despite the significant deterioration of the macro environment limited by the increase in trade margins”.

Further data shows that in the last quarter, the Orlen Group achieved revenues of PLN 67.9 billion (in 2023 it was PLN 79.5 billion), while costs corporate functions were limited to PLN 394 million.
Interestingly, however, when we look at the net profit, we learn that in the third quarter Orlen recorded it at the level of PLN 188 million (in the second quarter it was only PLN 26 million). These numbers may be surprising when compared year to year, because in the same period of 2023, net profit was higher by as much as 96%. and amounted to over PLN 4.5 billion.
The impact of specific segments on results. The gas came to the front
The Orlen Group also distinguished the results of individual segments of its operations. The segment's profit dominated the third quarter gas – almost PLN 3.5 billion, the mining segment – PLN 3.3 billion and the retail segment – almost PLN 1.1 billion. The chart presented by the company also revealed that Orlen's profits were reduced by PLN 118 million by the petrochemical segment.
