Miedź Legnica has been on a roll for 1.5 months and is also the runner-up in the Betclic 1st League. We could therefore blindly assume that it would be an open match, that we would have a regular and intense match game from goal to goal.

The hit of the PP round did not disappoint

From the very beginning, Miedź and Legia intended to play dynamic and intense football. A high defense line, high and aggressive pressing, quick passing of the ball from one formation to another – these elements characterized the game of both teams. It had to be so fierce fans please.

The hosts created the first dangerous action in the 4th minute. The counterattack ended with a very good long-range shot by Kamil Drygas. The ball almost fell behind Gabriel Kobylak's back, but ultimately it flew just over the crossbar. Miedź had to wait a while for another favorable situation.

However, every attack by Legia was a threat. The only thing missing was a good finish from Marek Guala, Kacper Chodyna and others. Mateusz Abramowicz looked good in Legnica's goal, even defending the shot with his head.

Although Legia created more opportunities over time, Miedź's opportunities were better. It is especially worth paying attention to Kamil Antonik's attempt from a distance in the 26th minute. He wanted to take advantage of the fact that Kobylak was covered. He shot on the ground, but the capital's goalkeeper managed to save the shot. Then he was furious with the defenders for their behavior in this situation. We didn't have any goals until the break, but we couldn't complain about boredom.

Miedź surprisingly started the second half better, taking the lead in the 49th minute. She took advantage of errors in the reception of Maxi Oyedele, who had just replaced Rafał Augustyniak. However, neither of them gave peace in the middle of the field. Oyedele was missing after one intervention, then Juliusz Letniowski jumped out from behind him. The home team's midfielder escaped and shot from outside the penalty area. Kobylak had no chance with a strong, dribbling shot to the far post. After this hit, Legnica went crazy with happiness.

But Miedź's joy did not last long. A few minutes later, Paweł Wszołek hit Florian Hartherz's hand in the penalty area. Referee Jarosław Przybył dictated the “eleven” only after VAR's intervention. Bartosz Kapustka scored the goal from 11 meters. He cold-bloodedly hit the center of the goal, just waiting for Abramovich to move on the line.

Legia achieved a draw in the 56th minute and did not intend to stop there. She attacked again and again, forcing Copper to defend herself deeper and deeper. Finally managed to break the defense for the second time. It happened in the 78th minute. Bartosz Kapustka released Wszołek in the penalty area, and he scored an empty goal. Luquinhas scored from close range to give the visitors the lead.

Surprisingly, after the Brazilian's hit, Legia began to give the initiative to Miedź, who was really close to equalizing. She had two great opportunities at the end of the match – one after Damian Michalik's shot and the other after Krzysztof Drzazga's shot. Kobylak did great in the first one, instinctively defending the volley shot. The legionnaires were lucky with the second one. The ball bounced off the legs of one of the defenders and fell millimeters past the post.

Ultimately, Legia survived this nervous and exciting ending. The capital team won 2-1 and advanced to the 1/8 finals of the Polish Cup. He will meet his rival on November 4 – then the pairs draw in this round will take place.
