Pete HegeSeth in Poland. Cezary Tomczyk: The arrival of the US Secretary of Defense to Poland was not accidental

Deputy Minister of National Defense Cezar Tomczyk (Civic Coalition) commented on the entry of PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński on TVN24, referring to the ongoing Polish presidency in the Council of the European Union. Kaczyński wrote, among others, that “Tusk signals that he prefers to be the leader of the anti -American European rebellion.”

As deputy minister Tomczyk said, “these are very irresponsible words of Kaczyński.” – We really need unity in the country in this matter. Unity in Europe, unity in Poland and unity in transatlantic relations, in terms of security – he mentioned.

In his opinion, “Kaczyński practices politics in the name of his interests and interests of his party, as he did in the last eight years.” – This is the interest of Poland. This is completely different from the PiS interest. I would really like President Kaczyński to understand – he said.

He also assessed that “Kaczyński is in some political trap.” – He, when he sees the Secretary of Defense of the United States (Pete HegeSth) from the Trump administration, who comes here and visits the minister of our government with Polish and American soldiers, this is a shock for Kaczyński. Perhaps his colleagues argued that it would look completely different. We have a really iron alliance with the United States. We have had special relations with America for many, many years – he continued.

He also noted that “the arrival of the secretary of defense to Poland was not accidental.” – He did not throw his ankle or in any way randomly chose the country. He came here to show that Poland is an exemplary ally, that we spend almost five percent of GDP on defense – said the deputy head of the Ministry of National Defense.

According to him, “Poland simply defends his security because he knows that he does not want to be in a situation where it will have to count on others.”

The deputy minister of national defense was also asked if Poland would send soldiers to Ukraine. – We won't send it. There are no such plans at all. We don't even think about it – he noted.

– We have a rather specific geopolitical situation and as I meet with my colleagues from the United States, I often emphasize this. Poland is the only country in the world that borders simultaneously with Russia, Belarus and Ukraine. We have Russia behind the fence and today we do everything to protect ourselves. That is why we are building the east shield, which is why we do everything to internate the matter of protecting the border, which is why we want the whole NATO to be aware that this is not just a Polish border – this is also the border of the European Union, the border of NATO – said Tomczyk.

– We just have a different story to play. We can get involved in these processes and help, as we can in logistics matters, some security, but we will not send soldiers – he added.

Meanwhile The Prime Minister of Great Britain Keir Starmer declared On Monday, in Daily Telegraph, that he is “ready and willing” to send British troops to Ukraine to help guarantee its security as part of a peace agreement. The head of Swedish troops to Ukraine is not excluded by the head of diplomacy Maria Malmer Stenergard. “We must be sure that the Russians will not attack Ukraine or another country again in a few years,” she said.
