They did not stop for a road check, tried to escape, and changed places while driving. All for nothing. A 39-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman were detained – the police inform and describe the details of the intervention on the streets of Piaseczno near Warsaw.
On Sunday evening, Piaseczno traffic police officers noticed a Seat on Jana Pawła II Street, the driver of which had an obvious problem with maintaining the correct driving track and was constantly swerving into the opposite lane.
– This did not escape the attention of the policemen who decided to stop the car for a road check. Unfortunately, the driver apparently had other plans and did not want to stop. Not only did he not react to signals ordering him to stop, but he also accelerated and tried to escape – describes Magdalena GÄ…sowska, spokeswoman for the District Police Headquarters in Piaseczno.
“For a short while, both of them were sitting in the driver's seat.”
According to the policewoman, the driver was not alone in the vehicle. He is accompanied by a woman. During the escape, the couple decided to switch places and the woman who was to continue the escape wanted to sit in the driver's seat instead of the man.
– However, this attempt failed, although, as can be seen in the recording, both of them were sitting in the driver's seat for a short moment. Despite their best efforts and the attempt to escape from the police on foot, the plan failed. The couple was successfully detained. It turned out that the Seat was traveled by a 39-year-old man and his partner, who was 20 years his junior. A check in the police system showed that both the man and the woman did not have driving licenses. During the conversation with the policemen, they both admitted that this was the only reason for their escape. However, the officers did not believe it, GÄ…sowska reports.
A 39-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman were detained and spent the night in police cells. The car ended up in a police parking lot.
In the house they found the reason for the escape
The next day, officers of the Piaseczno investigation department began collecting evidence, while police officers of the criminal division began to determine the actual reason for not stopping for inspection.
They went to the couple's place of residence. During the search of the apartment, the police found drugs: mephedrone, amphetamine and marijuana. – It turned out that drugs were the real reason for escaping and wanting to avoid a road check – says the policewoman.
A 39-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman were charged with the same criminal charges, including failure to stop for a road check and possession of a significant amount of drugs.
The prosecutor applied a preventive measure against the 39-year-old in the form of police supervision. The crime committed is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
Both will also be held accountable in the Piaseczno court for driving a car, despite their lack of driving license.
