A 46-year-old man who was riding a scooter in Piotrków Trybunalski (Łódź Voivodeship) had almost two per mille of alcohol in his body. The man was given a heavy fine and returned home on foot.
The incident took place on November 19. Police officers from the Piotrkówka traffic police detained the driver of an electric scooter who was driving on the road. During the inspection, they smelled alcohol on his breath.
A scooter with double gas
– After checking the sobriety of the 46-year-old, it turned out that the man had nearly two per mille of alcohol in his body. He received a fine of PLN 200 for driving an electric scooter on the road, and PLN 2,500 for driving under the influence of alcohol – says Asp. pcs. Izabela Gajewska from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Piotrków Trybunalski.
The policewoman reminds that applicable regulations prohibit driving a scooter while under the influence of alcohol or alcohol. – Such behavior is extremely irresponsible and may end tragically. Alcohol significantly reduces the reaction speed. Visual acuity and the sense of distance from a potential obstacle are impaired. We would also like to remind you that a scooter can be used on the road only in places where vehicle traffic is allowed at a speed of no more than 30 km/h – summarized the press officer of the Piotrkówka police.
