The head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration Tomasz Siemoniak and the EU internal affairs and migration Magnus Brunner visited the Polish-Belarusian border. The minister stated that “as long as hybrid aggression is underway, it is not possible to restore normality at this border.” Brunner provided EU support.
On Thursday evening Tomasz Siemoniak And Magnus Brunner visited the closed border crossing in Połowce (Podlasie) and the section of the Polish-Belarusian border near this passage, where the steel dam stands and the electronic barrier also operates.
– We are dealing here with hostile activities against Poland and the European Union (on the part of the Lukashenko regime, who instrumentally uses innocent people who try to get to a better life, often paying people smugglers for this possibility – said Siemoniak at a briefing ending this visit.
He assured that actions consisting in strengthening the protection of the border with Belarus They are conducted so that not only Polish citizens, but also the European Union countries “feel safe”. He reminded that the European Commission a few months ago determined the situation on the Polish-Belarusian border with “instrumentalization of migration” and its “weaponization”, i.e. the use of migrants as a weapon.
“We call on this place to stop this type of hybrid aggression,” he said.
– This border at which we are located was a normal border for decades (…) As long as hybrid aggression lasts, it is not possible to restore normality at this border – he said.

EU Commissioner: This is a European problem
Commissioner Magnus Brunner emphasized that the situation at this border is not only Poland's problem, but a European problem. He thanked the Polish Border Guard for her service in protecting the Polish border, at the same time the external border of the EU. – We all know what she is capable of Russia and her ally Belarus. Cynism and cynical behavior are only one of the terms that such action can describe – emphasized the Commissioner in Połowce.
