Investigators revealed the expected image of a murdered woman whose fragmented body was discovered in Drzewina in Pomerania 16 years ago. The police are counting on helping to determine the identity of the crime victim, which was 20-30 years old at the time.
The Regional Prosecutor's Office in Gdańsk, which is investigating in this case, decided to reveal the image of a woman found in Drzewina in Pomerania. This is an undetected case from 2009. The dismembered body of a 20-year-old woman was discovered on April 25, 2009 in one of the ponds near the town of Drzewina in the commune Grand trumpets in the Gdańsk poviat. The corpse was deprived of heads, legs and hands.
“The identity of the victim has not been established so far”
“A scar was visible in the lower abdomen, probably after Caesarean section. A skin piece was removed from the left forearm, perhaps along with the tattoo. The experts determined that the corpse was exaggerated after death. The identity of the victim had not been established so far,” said spokesman for the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Gdańsk Mariusz Marciniak.
According to the Provincial Police Headquarters in Gdańsk, the publication of the image created by the American company Parabon Nanolabs using advanced genetic research, based on the biological material secured by police officers at the scene, illustrates the expected appearance of the victim.

“The investigation in this case was initiated on April 27, 2009. Due to the exhaustion of the evidence initiative at that time and in the face of the failure to establish the perpetrators of the crime, by decision of December 31, 2009 the investigation was discontinued in the face of the fact that the perpetrators were not unknown. Despite the redemption of the investigation, the case remained in constant interest of the prosecutor and specialists from Gdańsk, police archive X,” said prosecutor Marciniak and added that in the last time, after undertaking the redeemed investigation on November 26, 2024, there was a significant breakthrough in obtaining evidence.
DNA helped
Thanks to the use of innovative methods in the field of judicial genetics, ran from Parabon Nanolabs in USAby examining the victim DNA code and using modern methods of determining the physical characteristics of man on this basis, they developed a portrait of a woman whose exaggerated corpse was found in 2009 in Drzewin. Despite the numerous previous analyzes and the search for connections with missing persons investigators conducting activities on unknown corpses, they did not determine who the murdered woman was. The police appeal to people who have information on this matter who have not yet applied or recognized the woman visible in the portrait, to provide this information on investigators. Investigators also provide full anonymity to anyone who provides information on the identity of the victim, as well as the perpetrator of the murder.
